Themes of the Journal
Everything on Wolfe & Lois sits in one of five themes. They are not separate subjects so much as different doors into the same house: a day that feels a little healthier and a little calmer. This page describes each one and how they overlap.
Healthy Lifestyle
The broadest theme and the oldest part of the archive. Healthy Lifestyle gathers topics that touch several areas of life at once: regular dental check-ups, the changes that come with menopause, men's self-image and the pressure of enhancement marketing, the experience of sitting in a clinic waiting room, and choices adults make when stepping away from cigarettes, including a first vaping device in the UK. These pieces tend to be longer and to point more often towards professional support.
Sleep Questions
Sleep Questions focuses on the conditions around a night's rest rather than on sleep disorders. Bedroom climate, the evening wind-down, light and noise are the kind of things we explore here. The aim is a handful of small, testable changes, with a clear note about when poor sleep deserves a GP's attention.
Moving More
Moving More is for anyone trying to be a bit more active, especially people who are new to it or returning after a break. It covers the awkward moments that make routines wobble, such as aching muscles, colds and busy weeks, and leans towards approaches you can keep up rather than dramatic plans.
Kitchen & Plate
Kitchen & Plate deals with food in real kitchens: what to keep in the freezer, how to make a well-meant change without upsetting your stomach, and how to read a label without getting lost in it. There are no meal plans or calorie targets here, just practical choices.
Smile Care
Smile Care answers short, everyday questions about teeth and gums, such as when to brush, whether you need a rinse and how food affects enamel. It sits close to the dental pieces in Healthy Lifestyle and links back to them often.
