Conditions for Readers
By reading Wolfe & Lois you agree to the conditions on this page. We have tried to write them as plainly as the articles themselves. If anything is unclear, please ask through the contact page.
Last updated: October 2026.
1. What the journal is for
The journal publishes general information about everyday health habits, written by non-clinicians under pen names. It is meant to help you understand a topic and prepare better questions for the people who look after your health. It is not medical, dental, nutritional or pharmaceutical advice, and reading it does not create any professional relationship between you and us. The Health Content Notice explains this in more detail and is part of these conditions.
2. Your own decisions
Any choice you make about your health, diet, exercise, medicines or treatment is yours, ideally made together with a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Please do not ignore professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read here. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact emergency services straight away.
3. Accuracy and updates
We work hard to keep articles careful and current, and we correct mistakes when we find them or when readers point them out. Even so, guidance changes, and we cannot promise that every page is complete, error-free or up to date at the moment you read it. Each article shows its date so you can judge how recent it is.
4. Using our content
The text and the way the site is put together belong to the journal. You are welcome to:
- read articles, print them or keep a copy for private reference
- pass on the link to any page you find useful
- quote a brief extract, naming the journal and linking to the page it came from
Please do not copy whole articles or large parts of them, republish them elsewhere, or present them as your own work without our written permission.
5. Products, services and other websites
Some articles mention or link to products, services or organisations. A mention is not a guarantee of quality or suitability for you, and we are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of other websites. Use your own judgement and, where health is involved, check with a professional before buying or trying something new.
6. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content. Liability that the law does not allow anyone to exclude remains untouched by this wording.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the journal online, but we may change, pause or remove pages without notice, and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
8. Privacy
How we handle the small amount of data involved in running the site is set out on Privacy and Personal Data.
9. Changes to these conditions
These conditions can be revised as the journal changes. The date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated wording.
