Reach Wolfe and Lois

The simplest way to reach the journal is by email. Both writers read the inbox, and a short, friendly message is always welcome.

Email: inbox@wolfeandlois.org

You will not find a phone number, a postal address or an office for the journal. The journal is written from home desks, and email lets us give each message proper attention.

Good reasons to write

  • An idea for the next answer. Everyday, general questions about sleep, movement, food, teeth or life stages are exactly what we like to answer. If many people are likely to wonder the same thing, it may become a new piece.
  • A correction. If something on a page looks wrong, unclear or out of date, tell us which article and what caught your eye. We look at every correction carefully.
  • A gap in the archive. If you looked for a topic and could not find it, that helps us plan.
  • Feedback on how we write. Too long, too vague, too cautious? We would rather hear it.

What we cannot help with

We are writers, not health professionals, so we cannot:

  • tell you what a symptom means or whether you need treatment
  • suggest medicines, supplements or doses
  • comment on test results, prescriptions or advice you have been given

For those, a pharmacist, GP, practice nurse or dentist is the right person to ask. If something feels urgent, please do not wait for an email reply; contact your local urgent care line or emergency services instead. Our Health Content Notice has a little more on when to seek help.

What to include

A clear subject line helps a lot, for example "Question idea: sleep" or "Correction: frozen vegetables". If you are writing about a specific article, paste its link or title. Please leave out personal health details; we do not need them to answer a general question, and we would rather not store them.

When to expect a reply

We aim to reply within a week or so, sometimes sooner. Article ideas do not always get an individual answer, but every one is read and noted. Corrections are prioritised, and if we change an article because of your message, we update its date so readers can see it has been revised.

Your email and your data

We use your address only to reply to you and keep messages only as long as they are useful. The full details are on Privacy and Personal Data. If you would like to know more about the two of us before writing, The Two Voices Behind It is a short introduction.

This opens your email app with the message ready to send to inbox@wolfeandlois.org. Nothing is stored on this site.

Why we cannot answer personal health questions

We love hearing from readers, and many of our articles began as someone's email. But we are writers rather than clinicians, and a reply from us could never take the place of someone who can examine you, check your medicines and follow up.

So if your message is about your own symptoms, we will gently point you towards a pharmacist, GP or dentist. General questions, corrections and ideas for new topics are always welcome.
